Album Info:In the late 1970's, the Milwaukee Road wanted to abandon their Mineral Point and Viroqua branch lines and Illinois Central Gulf wanted to abandon their Madison district in Southern Wisconsin. The State bought these lines and contracted with the CM&N to operate them. Operations started in early 1980, but due to insufficient traffic and the lack of rehabilitation money, the CM&N went out of business in early 1982. I worked with the CM&N during this time and want to share some of my photos with you. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy viewing these photos.
