Album Info:On February 17, I went to see the Railroad Museum of Oklahoma located in Enid, NNW of Oklahoma City. It was awesome! Located in the old Santa Fe freight depot, they have a ton of railroad memorabilia and several huge model layouts on display inside, including an extensive Lionel set. Watermelon Campbell, the guy who gave the tour, didn't look a day over 70--but boy, was I impressed when I found out he was actually 96 years old! Mind sharp as ever, doesn't use a cane or a walker. Outside, though, were the real treats. Frisco 1519 is the highlight of the collection, but there's also a tonner diesel (which they plan to eventually use for excursions) and more cabooses than you can count! To keep the album from getting too big, the cabooses will appear in a separate album. Enjoy, and if you ever get to Enid, be sure to visit!

Enid Rock Island Depot
Title:  Enid Rock Island Depot
Description:  The location of the Rock Island depot prompted a year-long railroad war. The Rock Island tried to stop in North Enid and bypass the government town of South Enid. A statute signed by Grover Cleveland eventually ended the conflict in 1894 requiring the Rock Island to stop at both sites, but South Enid is the town that became present-day Enid.

The Wanda Lee
Title:  The Wanda Lee
Description:  The "Wanda Lee", or car 3100 was originally built as an Army medical service car 89526 in 1954 by the St. Louis Car Company. It was rebuilt by Amtrak into a "Le Pub" bar-lounge car 3406 to be used on the Montrealer. When the pub and dance floor were removed, Amtrak converted it into a cafe-lounge car. After being moved to the museum, the car was refurbished and repainted, then named in honor of our directors late wife, Wanda Lee Campbell.--courtesy the museum website
