Legendary Location |
Description: |
Downtown Cima, CA...not much besides a few abandonded structures, the railroad, and open desert. While the sign says 'cold beer' all we found was a sun-bleached, abandoned store, and a quiet ramshackle ranch house...glad we brought our own cold beer! |

Draped over the Summit |
Description: |
In the desert, even April has high, harsh light. But that makes sense out here - the sun and the wind are the keepers of the desert, and will have their way. UP 8040 West eases down the 2.2% at the west end of Cima Siding. |

The Former Post Office |
Description: |
Kelso is not a big town, and it's a lot smaller than when it needed its own post office. Still the structure stands, well-weathered by years in the desert. |

Saved from demoltion by local residents, the US Park Service has restored the Kelso Depot (and the beanery inside) for us to enjoy. It's a great museum and a nice place to grab lunch while waiting for trains on Cima Hill. |
