Album Info:Next to the roundhouse and inside the museum fencing was a small display of freight and MOW items. Rarest in the group was the B&O Dynamometer car - fascinating technology from the steam and then early diesel era.

PM 11 - Pere Marquestte
Title:  PM 11 - Pere Marquestte
Description:  Built in 1942 and the 2nd diesel switcher purchased by the Pere Marquette, it served with distinction through mergers with C&O until reitrement in 1984 and donated in 1987 as one of the oldest working diesels. Damaged in the 2003 roof collapse at the museum, it was restored by 2004.

Description:  The dynamometer produced an "EKG"-style paper printout of engine performance, except the paper was nearly 4 feet wide as you can see on the table below! A video by Harry Eck, former superintendent of Locomotive Operations (who just passed away July 12, 2012), explains in detail how the car worked. Well worth watching!!!!
