Description:  Long before an SD40-2 wore the number "5787", this 2-10-2 Santa Fe type steam locomotive had the honor on the Canadian Pacific roster. Built by the CP Angus Shops in 1919, most of its service was spent pushing from the rear or helping from the front. Original specs - class S2, 200 psi boiler pressure, 26.5x32" cylindeers, engine weight of 362,000 lb, tractive effort of 65,866 lb. The entire class of 15 locos were retired between 1952-54. Description:  Fifteen of these brutes were built by the CP Angus Shops in 1919 to serve as helper locos. Original specs - class S2, 200 psi boiler pressure, 26.5x32" cylindeers, engine weight of 362,000 lb, tractive effort of 65,866 lb. The entire class of 15 locos were retired between 1952-54. Although taken by J.R. Quinn, no location or date was given on this photo but a similar one seems to point to Coquitlam, BC, Canada at a similar date.

Description:  Long and strong would be two good adjectives for this Canadian Pacific 2-10-2 Santa Fe type #5813. The loco was built by the Canadian Pacific's own Angus Shops in June of 1920. Specs - no serial # assigned, class S-2, 58" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 26.5x32" cylinders, engine weight of 362,000 lb, tractive effort of 65,866 lb. The loco was scrapped in October of 1955. Description:  Fair quality photo by Ernie Naoel of the Montreal Locomotive Works built 2-10-4 Selkirk type steam locomotive, CP #5919. This loco built in July of 1929 was the last one of the first group of 2-10-4's that CP would order. So successful were they that sixteen more would be ordered from MLW at later dates. Specs - serial #67940, class T-1a, 63" drivers, 275 psi boiler pressure, 25.5x32" cylinders, engine weight of 452,500 lb, impressive tractive effort of 77,204 lb
