AMTK 2154
Title:  AMTK 2154
Description:  Amtrak 2154, named SILVER ORCHID, stored at Michigan City, Indiana on July 12, 1982, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Number 2154 was built by Budd in 1952 as CB&Q 464, same name. Six cars were ordered on Budd Job 9658-112, all configured 6-4-6 ( 6 section, 4 bedroom, 6 roomettes ), ordered in March 1951 and delivered between August and September 1952. Two cars were assigned to the Blackhawk (Chicago - Minneapolis), two to the American Royal Zephyr (Chicago - Kansas City) and two to the American Royal Zephyr (Chicago - Saint Joseph). The Burlington publicized the direct service to Saint Joseph to compete with the Santa Fe and Rock Island. The four bedrooms were located in the middle, and this view shows the aisle side passing those bedrooms.
