Patrick McNamara General So tell us - is the 'second 400' living on somewhere, or has it been reduced to nails and door hinges ? 6/7/2016 3:59:55 PM
Ed Cooper General This unit was rebuilt from 4084C 2nd. The first 4084C was destroyed in a wreck circa late 1952 and rebuilt at EMD in the second quarter of 1953. Wreck photos of 4084C 1st in an EMD deadline just showed up on Facebook. Note the phase II F7 features of the #400's cab. 11/1/2020 8:24:50 AM
Ed Cooper General Correction on the wreck of the 4084C, it was wrecked July 4, 1951 at Rhinelander, Wisconsin. The rebuild on a new underframe would have been closer to late 1951 to early 1952. 11/4/2020 1:26:33 PM
