Nevada Southern Railway         
Built as a demonstrator loco. Sold to UP, 1000, 12/1940. Sold to Stockton Terminal & Eastern RR, Stockton, CA, 1001, 7/1966. To WP, 10/1968 rebuilt and numbered 608 in 2/1969. Became UP 1887 after merger of two railways. Donated to Feather River Rail Society, UT, 12/1984. To here, /1994.

Eugene Vicknair General Actually, this engine became WP 607, the Sacramento Northern 607. WP 608 is still at the WP Museum in Portola, painted in its original WP orange paint scheme. 8/28/2014 2:09:39 AM
Eugene Vicknair General If I recall correctly, SN 607 was donated by UP to the Heber Creeper. The 608 was donated to the FRRS, operators of the WP Museum. 8/28/2014 2:10:43 AM
