ACES train 7184 heads north through the "trench" in Haddonfield three weeks before the New York City to Atlantic City express service ended. The overpass in the background in Mt. Vernon Avenue and used to be a grade crossing before the PATCO Hi-Speed Line was built. Also at this location was Vernon Tower, which controlled the junction of Pennsy's Main Line and Bridge Branch. The Aces train is on the former Bridge Branch which is a direct route to the Delair Bridge and Philadelphia. |
