MORRIS Tower
MORRIS Tower, which is located in Morrisville, PA is an all brick structure with concrete foundation and was built in 1941. Unlike other towers of the same period and design, MORRIS contains no bay window. It employeed a 47 lever US&S Model 14 electro-pneumatic switch machine which aside from the main line, also controlled several interlockings around Morrisville Yard. With the decline of both passenger and freight service, MORRIS was closed circa 1990. Today, due to proper upkeep and maintenance, the tower serves as an Amtrak MoW base as well as housing the air compressor equipment that is used for the pneumatic switches at MORRIS interlocking.
