Modern look  Contributor's Pick!
In the 1950s, some railroads replaced older stations, perhaps in the hope that a newer facility would attract more ridership, though some older stations were just aging and needed replacement. One such place, then a division point on the MP line to Pueblo, was Hoisington Kan. This mid century modern structure still stands at the edge of downtown, and is used by Watcos Kansas & Oklahoma, which operates a variety of cast off Santa Fe and MP lines in Kansas and Oklahoma.
