What Will The Future Hold For The Eastern Railroads?  Contributor's Pick!
The crew aboard this stopped eastbound freight (BNSF? CP?) at Union Junction had engines from both major eastern railroads for power. CSX rejected the advances of a railroad run by a man named E. Hunter Harrison in 2014, but now ol' E.H.H. wants Norfolk Southern. If -and I say if- NS falls into E.H.H.'s orbit, will CSX fall prey to a mega-mega merger too? This was one reason I took two photos of this train today. I have learned through sad experience that you can't take anything for granted as a railfan, and must enjoy every moment trackside as if it is the last day of the iron horse.
