Last Train on the Peters Mine Spur  Contributor's Pick!
This photo was found in a historical archive at the Ringwood Library. It is the Erie Greenwood Lake Branch, Peters Mine Spur, where it crosses Greenwood Lake Turnpike(today's Rt. 511) in Ringwood. The Wanaque Reservoir and the Erie Rr are to the left side of the picture, behind the fence. You are looking north toward Greenwood Lake. The 2 locomotives are un-numbered US Army Locomotives, and the caption on the card says that this was the last train to run on this spur line. The date is approx. Fall of 1950. Anyone who can assist on locomotive ID would be appreciated.
