SLSF 4-8-2 #4409 Wreck  Contributor's Pick!       
According to the information written on the back of the photo by photographer Arthur B. Johnson "Frisco 4409, a 4-8-2 oil burner pulling #3, the "will Rogers" near Wangua, MO about 4;15am 2-26-49. Boiler blew up derailing engine and 5 cars. Engineer Frank Fulton lost a arm. Fireman burned, no passengers hurt." Other online sources list the site of the wreck being near Newburg, MO.
