CN 4-8-4 #6400 - Canadian National         
Power, speed and streamlining all shaped one of the most iconic Canadian locomotives ever built. CN 4-8-4 #6400 was built by the Montreal Locomotive Works in June of 1936. The U-4-a class 4-8-4 Confederations (CN's term for Northerns) was shrowded in a streamline case. Specs - serial #68715 class U-4-a, 77" drivers, incredible 275 psi boiler pressure, 24x30" cylinders, engine weight of 280,280 lb, tractive effort of 52,457 lb. The locomotive survived the scrapper's torch and is currently on display at the National Museum of Science & Technoloty in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. No date, location or photographer was listed for this beautiful action shot.
