Here is page one of a four-page article entitled "Potomac Yard, Va." It was published originally in the November 1940 issue of "Trains" magazine, page 22. Main Caption: "Trains come and go at Potomac, but the Yard never sleeps." Top Photo: Prominent here is Richmond, Fredericksburg, & Potomac Railroad engine #405, a Class 401 (4-6-2) "Pacific" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as number "5" in May of 1916, renumbered "405" in 1926, and retired in March of 1950 after 45 years of faithful service. Partially visible in the hazy distance is the George Washington Masonic National Memorial.
