Byerly. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Fred Byerly. Shown here is Penn Central Railroad engine #4627, a P2B (2-C-C-2) electric built by the American Locomotive Company & General Electric as a P1A for the Cleveland Union Terminal Railroad about 1930. Purchased by the New York Central Railroad in 1953; reconfigured for third-rail operation and reclassified as a P2B. Renumbered "4627" in preparation for the NYC-PRR merger. The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Electric Railroading ~ Penn Central and Pennsylvania Lines" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (868-30). |
