Still sitting around the turntable at Jophin MO roundhouse is Frisco 2-8-0 Consolidation #1215. Built by Burnham, Wms & Co (Baldwin predecessor) in March of 1907, it remained on the books at least through 3/1/1947 - obviously severeal years longer than that before meeting the scrapper's torch. Specs - coal burner, 57" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 22x30" cylinders, engine weight of 198,000 lb, tractive effort of 43,300 lb. Arthur B. Johnson photo |
