| The name Vandalia RR is almost a sacred word, especially in the area around Terre Haute. The origins of the Vandalia Railroad involved mnay smaller lines like the Terre Haute & Indianapolis, Terre Haute and Logansport, and the Indiana & Vincennes Railroad. The line eventually was absorbed into the PRR, then Penn Central, Conrail and finally CSX. Still the word "Vandalia" brings back many memories! |
