| This sharp looking GP8 is working the short line "Hoosier Southern" obviously in soutnern Indiana. The trackage was former NS taht had been abandoned but was revived by the Perry County Port Authority (PCPA) to attract new industires to Perry County. The loco was built by EMD in March of 1953 as IC #8964. It then passed through the rosters os ICG #7964 and IAIS 464 before landing as HOS 464. Interesting that the Hoosier Southern chose a black-on-red color scheme that is almost a reverse of the IAIS red-on-black scheme. J. Harlen Wilson took this color slide. |
