BFJ Alco RSC2 #5 - Brillion & Forest Junction Rwy
During one of his rail photography trips, Dick Berry caught this Brillion & Forest Junction loco sitting on a siding in Brillion, WI. Originally built by Alco in April of 1947 as MILW #991, it was renumbered MILW #585 > MILW #580 > MILW #576. The BFJ shortline consisted of 6 1/2 mile stretch between Brillion and Forest Junction in northern Calumet County, WI. The railroad was former CNW trackage that was purchased jointly by several local busineses - Ariens Company, Manitowoc Farm Cooperative (FARMCO) and Wickes Lumber Company. It existed between 1978 to 1985. The image was made from an original negative taken by Dick Berry which is now in my collection.
