Final Day Of Plant-Lined RofW for Q258
The vegetation on the right side of the image might look nice, esp since I was purposly trying to work in the orange & red blooms, but it makes photography of train headed north from Taft Ramp better for telephoto lenses & "head on" images. Only a couple open spots to perch on the fill between it & Rachel's parking lot. Little did I know this would be the last image I'd have to get myself covered in twigs, spurs & other junk for. CSXT had plowed the north side of the rails this day & the following day plowed this side all the way out. This is a prime spot to shoot afternoon/evening northbound trains as they run due west here, especially helpful most of the year as the light tends to favor this side all day. During the summer months the first few hours after sunrise & the last hour before sunset, the light is on the other side.
