Look! The old CTC signal was still in place at this late date in 1995. It has been 4 years since the last BN coal train ran through here and there's still a signal. Cool.

I wonder if the M&St.L tracks were still in place at this date. I think they were ripped up from Hopkins east to Bass Lake Yard in the mid-1990's and in 1990 or 1991 to Chaska.

BNSF power is now coming through Hopkins again to deliver coal to the sugar beet processing plant in Renville, MN.

The BNSF power has even been going west of Hopkins to deliver the coal to Renville and usually returns light power to the Twin Cities.

Sometimes the BNSF power comes into Hopkins to pick up unit ethanol trains being directly handed off from the Minnesota Prairie Line.

Who would have thought that 12 years later, unit coal trains would return to the TCWR, and that TCWR would have intermodal service between Shoreham and Montevideo, unit ethanol and DDG trains from the MPL in addition to the regular locals that use the tracks?

Glad to see that they're using the tracks again...

It was CTC here still in 1995 from Cedar Interlocking in South Minneapolis to Tower E-14 I believe. And from Tower E-14 to ESS Glencoe, I believe it was still TWC-ABS.
