Andrew Sax General The smart @ss answere is that they are those. The real answere, They are cabbless engines that can switch cars around in the yard at the hand of the dispatcher. they are remote controlled car switchers. 9/10/2007 6:53:35 AM
Joe Green General I spotted BNSF 3951 and 3955 in NRE's Silvis yard this summer. obviously 3951 was pulled out as well as 3963 which i never saw 9/10/2007 1:36:41 PM
Glenn Anderson General Slugs are not engines, remote control or otherwise. They are usually cut down from locos, but have been rebuilt without an engine, only traction motors and extra weight for traction. They operate as an extra set of traction motors from the master unit. Hope that explains it. 9/11/2007 6:35:45 PM
