Southbound UP 844 and the Oklahoma Centennial Sooner Rocket  Contributor's Pick!
The Oklahoma Centennial Sooner Rocket operating as UP Train SWTEN 09 crests a small grade on the way from Wichita, KS to Enid, OK with a 14 car passenger consist in tow at about 30 mph. I don't think I could have asked for a better morning for big steam. This was the longest UP Passenger Train I'd ever seen, with 3 domes! Can't beat that!

David Mead General This is 100 % a stunning and suberb shot of the train - the loco is in perfect condition, nice and cleany and shiny, the light is just right, the crew are enjoying themselves and so are you - I wish I was with you Zach - surely this is worthy of a national railroad magazine or even send it to Railway Magazine here in UK? 9/11/2007 2:49:29 AM
Alex Vaughn General Good, clear shot. 9/11/2007 9:42:09 PM
