Description:
Asarco Mexicana GE 70T 1956 is a former SP unit (5114), that went to National Metals before being repainted in this verlillion scheme and sent south. For whatever reason the unit was refused by the smelting outfit and it remained at SP's El Paso yard for a short stay until being sold;to the M&ET, where it joined that road's stable of like locomotives as their 606.
