Here's a good looking 2-8-0 Consolidaiton built by ALCo-Dickson in September of 1902 as St Louis, Memphis & Southeastern #274. After being absorbed into the Frisco roster in 1903, it was renumbered SLSF #960 seen here. After 46 years of service, the loco was scrapped in May of 1948. Specs - class 270/956, 57" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 21x28" cylinders, engine weight of 174,500 lb, tractive effort of 36,800 lb. Arthur B. Johnson photo |
