| This nice shot taken by Max Miller shows the 1901 Baldwin built 4-6-0 ten wheeler sitting in the yard at Wilmington, Delaware. Originally built as Vauclain compounds with 15 1/2" HP and 26" LP cylinders, estimated TE of 27,105 lb, they were quickly converted to simple expansion engines in 1904 by the B&O shops. Specs - class B-19a, 68" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 21x28" cylinders, engine weight of 171,990 lb, tractive effort of 30,870 lb. |
